Privacy Policy

We know that an interest in cannabis can be personal. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect when you use Jazzy Cabbages, why, and who else sees it. The short version: we collect very little, we don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising.

What we collect

When you browse

Analytics. On the live site we use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and how they find us. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies and records things like the pages you view, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location (city or region, derived from your IP address). We've turned off Google signals and ad personalization, and we don't run ads. You can block Google Analytics with a content blocker or Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Missing pages. If you land on a page that doesn't exist, we log the address you tried, the page that linked you there, and your browser's user-agent string so we can fix broken links. We don't log your IP address.

Hosting. The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) to run and secure its service.

Search. Site search runs entirely in your browser. Your searches aren't sent to us.

When you comment

To post a comment you give us a name (shown publicly with your comment) and, optionally, an email address. Your email is never displayed. We use it to:

  • send you a notification when someone replies to your comment, and
  • show your Gravatar image if you have one. To do this, a scrambled (hashed) version of your email is included in the image address, and your visitors' browsers load the image from Gravatar.

When you submit a comment, we send your name, email, comment text, IP address, and browser user-agent string to Akismet, a spam-filtering service run by Automattic. We don't store your IP address ourselves. Comments are saved in our database (hosted by Supabase) and are held for review before they appear. Comment notifications are sent by email through Resend.

When you rate a recipe

We store only the recipe and the star rating — nothing that identifies you. Your browser remembers your own rating locally so the stars show your choice when you come back.

When you contact us

Messages sent through our contact form include your name, email, subject, and message. The form is processed and stored by Netlify, and we use what you send only to reply to you.

Stored in your browser

We save two small things in your browser's local storage: your light/dark theme choice and any recipe ratings you've given. They never leave your device.

Some links on this site are affiliate links, including links to Amazon. If you click one, the retailer may set its own cookies to credit us with the referral. What happens on their site is covered by their privacy policy, not ours.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent your personal information.
  • We don't use your information for advertising or share it with advertisers.
  • We don't build profiles about you or your cannabis use.

Age

Jazzy Cabbages is written for adults 21 and over, or the legal age where you live. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe someone under 21 has submitted a comment or message, let us know and we'll delete it.

Your choices

You can ask us to delete a comment, remove your email address from our records, or tell you what we hold about you. Just contact us. You can also clear your browser's cookies and local storage at any time.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
