Landrace
A cannabis strain that developed naturally in a specific geographic region over centuries without human selective breeding — adapted to local climate and conditions. Examples include Afghani (Hindu Kush mountains), Thai (Southeast Asia), Durban Poison (South Africa), and Acapulco Gold (Mexico). True landraces are rare in the modern cannabis market, which is dominated by hybrids. Landraces are the genetic foundation from which most modern strains were developed.
