Trichomes

Tiny, hair-like structures that coat the flowers and sugar leaves of the cannabis plant. Trichomes are where cannabinoids and terpenes are produced and stored. They appear as a frosty, crystalline coating visible to the naked eye on mature buds. Trichome colour (clear → cloudy/milky → amber) is the most reliable indicator of harvest timing: cloudy trichomes indicate peak THC; increasing amber indicates THC degradation to CBN and a more sedative effect profile.
