Edibles deliver cannabinoids through the digestive system, which changes their pharmacokinetics compared to inhaled cannabis — delayed onset (30 minutes to 2 hours), longer duration (4–8 hours), and often stronger effects due to first-pass metabolism producing 11-hydroxy-THC.
