Fat-soluble
A property of cannabinoids describing their ability to dissolve in fats rather than water. This is why cannabis infusions use fat-based carriers like butter, coconut oil, or olive oil — the fat molecules bind to cannabinoids and carry them into your recipes. It's also why eating fatty food before or with edibles can enhance cannabinoid absorption, and why cannabinoids accumulate in fatty tissue in the body.
