Extraction
The process of separating cannabinoids and other desired compounds from cannabis plant material. Extraction methods include alcohol extraction (the basis of tinctures and FECO), CO₂ extraction (used commercially for concentrates and vape cartridges), hydrocarbon extraction (butane, propane — produces wax, shatter, live resin), and ice water extraction (produces bubble hash). Home extractors most commonly use alcohol.
