Infusion
The process of combining cannabis with a fat or alcohol carrier to extract and dissolve cannabinoids into a usable cooking ingredient. Common infusion bases include butter (cannabutter), coconut oil, olive oil, and grain alcohol (tincture). Infusion requires decarboxylated cannabis and involves applying gentle heat over an extended period, then straining out the plant material.
