Terpene

A large class of aromatic organic compounds produced by many plants — not just cannabis. In cannabis, terpenes are produced in the trichomes alongside cannabinoids and give each strain its distinctive smell and flavour. Terpenes also interact with cannabinoids and neurotransmitter systems in ways that contribute to each strain's effect profile. Over 200 terpenes have been identified in cannabis.
