Tolerance

The reduced response to a substance following repeated exposure. Regular cannabis use leads to THC tolerance through downregulation of CB1 receptors — the same dose produces diminishing effects over time. Tolerance to THC develops relatively quickly with daily use and resets with abstinence (commonly called a "tolerance break" or "T-break"). Tolerance to CBD is less well-studied.
